Hei alle sammen! I have a random question – not the typical fare for this sub, but hoping someone can help 🤞

I just moved into a new place and can't connect my washing machine drain.

Instead of a standpipe coming up from the floor (and you just stick the drain hose down into it), there is a threaded pipe that comes out of the wall.

I tried sticking the drain hose into the pipe, but as you move the machine into place, it hits the hose and pulls it out of the pipe.

Is there an adaptor I can get to screw onto this pipe and connect the drain hose securely to? I have measured the threaded part and it seems to be a G1 (1" BSP fitting), but I can't find anything to fit that.

Better yet, is there an adaptor that would also let me connect the drain from my dryer? I'm really missing the standpipe style strain, that worked fine and was much simpler 😅

  1. There might be local differences but up north I’ve only seen it done like this

    Mounted vertically:

The outlet hose is usually held in place by a mount as seen with this product. Mount is usually screwed in place above the collector (2295636)

They probably have parts to go from 1″ threaded to straight pipe as well, add an elbow and you’re done.

But as said, might be local differences. Go to your local hw store and they may have something stupid simple that makes what I’m used to look archaic :p
