Looking for a partner (M/F) to ride the Lac Leman gravel challenge
Hey, community.
I attempted the Lac Leman Challenge last year. It is 350km, 8000m race around the Lac Leman in Switzerland. 70% Gravel, some singletrack pieces.
I DNF last year. Conditions were quite rough, a lot of mud, my gear was not perfectly attuned to the conditions. I dropped out after like 14 hours and 220km.
It was my third major long distance events, and the first I did not finish. It still is haunting me today, and I want to finish what I started.
Unfortunately, they do not have an edition this year and I do not want to wait for next year
I have a partner I usually ride this kind of events with – but he is dealing with some personnel topics this year, and I do not think he is up for it.
So long story short: I am looking for someone who joins me, I have the feeling that my chances are higher if pairing up.
My goal is to ride it in one piece, without sleeping, but I will bring emergency biwak equipment.
Gear wise I recommend a gravel bike with good gearing and >42mm tires. Rest doesn’t matter.
You can find the exact track at https://www.lausannegravel.cc/home.
Timing wise I am looking at dates around May / June / July. When it gets warmer and drier – exact date will likely need some flexibility because I would postpone if there is heavy rain forecasted (not unusual in the area) (like really heave rain storms, I do not mind a shower here and then ;))
PM me if interested! (If more than 1 could form a group as well)
