  22. It’s so weird watching Trump and Vance try to power play Zelensky. Trump is playing businessman, and he’s trying to strongarm Zelensky, but Zelensky is fighting an actual dictator, a murder, an abuser. Trump is nothing. What’s worse is Trump thinks he has the cards. He’s trying to make a deal for resources and trying to downplay Zelensky’s position being the controller of those resources. It’s why Trump directly and aggressively attacks Zelensky. It’s why Vance kept telling Zelensky to thank Trump. They hope to position Zelensky as subservient, but this isn’t a negotiation with Joe Bob’s construction over utility work. And Zelensky has almost all of the rest of the world for support. Trump acts like he’s the only other player. He’s just one of hundreds. Trump acts like the investment so far gained him exceptional favor (very common for a narcissist and abuser). Trump is making all the wrong moves and doing so with the wrong person.

    Zelensky is at a point where he must decide to abandon the US completely. It is in Zelensky’s favor to do so and to push hard to build up relations with Europe…which he already is.

    What I suspect is that Zelensky will play Trump for a short time, take what he can get, and when there is nothing more to be had that’s beneficial, Zelensky will ignore Trump entirely. From that point on, Zelensky will align completely with actual competent leaders in Europe and finish out this war without the US at all. And any resource details or anything else will be solely with those European nations too. Trump (and stupidly Vance) is being such a disrespectful abuser to Zelensky, that there is nothing for him with the US. There is no good to be had. There is no value to Ukraine to deal with the US and Trump at all.

    Even now, any tempering and salvaging is only a calculated decision to squeak out some aid, some resources, whatever’s left before Trump completely shuts off the tap. And then it’s done. Trump is out completely. And Zelensky and Ukraine will be better for it.

  27. Zelensky has nothing to apologize for. He was facing two egotistical bullies who weren’t getting their way. So they threw a tantrum and declared him a loser as all bullies do.

    They thought that doing it on television would heighten their image, but it showed them as the childish bullies they are, not just to the American people, but to the world.

    US foreign diplomacy has been destroyed. No previous ally will wish to deal with second grade level mentalities.

  28. Nor should he. Apologizing implies he did something wrong, which Trump is trying to argue that he did, of course. But literally all he is trying to do is fight for his people. There is no need to apologize for doing what his people elected him to do. If anything, we owe Ukraine and all of Europe an apology, this is fucking disgraceful
