1. Bit of a snub to the orange manchild across the pond. Kudos to Charles.

2. Jeez this state visit was planned and implemented within a few hours while Zelenskyy was flying (fleeing?) from America

5. This is actually quite smart from the Royals. They can’t officially cancel Trumps visit without a massive diplomatic fallout. But they can invite and sing praises for Zelensky

6. I hate the monarchy, don’t respect Charles but… so glad Zelenskyy got the respect he deserves.

   Elizabeth Windsor lived through WW2, I’m sure she will have impressed upon Charles what President Zelenskyy is likely going through.

7. For all his failings, Charles is an avid environmentalist and the head of state of Canada, I expect he despises Trump as much if not more than anyone, so they can have a nice venting session together

16. This is actually quite a clever solution to the problem they gave themselves with that state invitation.

    They can’t cancel it after it’s been offered without causing an international incident at a time when we need less of that thing. But it still shows Comrad Trumpski exactly where he stands.

17. Difference is the king met Zelenskyy because we RESPECT Zelenskyy, only offered that to trump because trump is blackmailing us.

23. A very nice bit of manoeuvring. We get to avoid disinviting Trump. Zelensky gets to meet the King before Trump, which will reassure Zelensky, but annoy the hell out of Trump. And Trump is then faced with either continuing to come on his state visit and having to grin & bear it, or somehow turning it down – which will make him look rather more ungracious and ungrateful than he tried to claim Zelensky was.
