    Their inaction and inability for self-examination seems smug and lazy. They aren’t even trying for populism or coherent messaging, despite roughly half the voting demographic looking to them for exactly that.

  13. Zelensky tried to be respectful, but was bulldozed by the VP and President of the USA, who showed their true colors, as ignorant pawns of Putin! Both of them traitors to democracy and traitors to their own country. Trump wanted to show how powerful, he thinks he is, but still his stupidity came through. They are both an embarrassment to the USA and this meeting showcased it to the world.

  21. As someone with no direct involvement in the war, I can say that this has been a disastrous diplomatic event. Trump and Zelensky did not communicate effectively.

    First, Zelensky’s attire was somewhat inappropriate for such a high-level official gathering, but there was no need for ridicule. More importantly, the agreement could have been presented more clearly.The minerals deal could have actually benefited Ukraine by giving the U.S. a vested interest in the country’s rare earth resources. This, in turn, would have made U.S. support more likely in the event of any threats against Ukraine.

    Additionally, it could have boosted Ukraine’s economy through foreign investments in mining and processing sectors, creating jobs and generating significant revenue.The real issue, however, was poor communication. The way it was conveyed made it seem as if the U.S. would have full control over Ukraine’s resources, leaving Ukraine powerless in the matter.

  40. After watching the whole Oval Office meeting yesterday it is VERY clear that;
    Trump only cares about the rare Earth minerals (REM).

    Trump refused to give Ukraine ANY form of security assistance or even continued on going support.
    Stated that they would talk about that after the ‘deal’ had been done.

    You could see it on Zelensky face that he knew he was there to get fucked, and he wasn’t up for it.
