EUREKA (25News Now) – The parking lot was completely full Saturday at the fifth birthday celebration for Braker’s Market in Eureka.
The grocery store and restaurant may be located off the beaten path, near Highway 24 in Woodford County, but the store has grown and thrived for five years.
It was founded by Phil and Rebecca Braker, who are parents of eight. They wanted to help other families get the most out of their money.
“It took a lot of sweat and work. We took a building that used to be a cabinet shop. We remodeled it, added a lot of equipment for the food,” said Phil Braker.
They try to stock most of their products from local vendors to support the area economy. They also source several products from the Amish community.
The owners’ goal is for the store to become a destination for customers to visit from far and wide.
