>Ford, 82, is doing okay and is resting after the diagnosis, which he received yesterday. EW has learned that the Indiana Jones and Star Wars franchise actor dropped out of the Oscars ceremony this morning.
If only there were a vaccination program for this entirely preventable disease.
It’s a terrible affliction that usually affects roofs.
Shingles doesn’t care
With him going through this, Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios should give him bonus pay
Man, I had this at 38 and it was the worst. I asked my doctor about getting the vaccine and he was like “Insurance won’t cover it under 50 and if you get it again you’ll know how to deal with it.” Love American healthcare.
Oscar show to host? SHINGLES DOESN’T CARE.
I’ve heard it’s awful. Best wishes to him.
I read an interesting article the other day looking at the correlation between the Shingles vaccine and lower incidence of dementia. All you 50 year olds and above who haven’t gotten the shot: it’s worth it.
All my friends who have come down with shingles in their later years have been MISERABLE with it. Poor dude hope he recovers quickly.
“ew” … ? Is that really the site’s name? lol wtf
Shingles don’t care
I got shingles at 28. holy shit did it hurt. even now I can still feel it in the area where it was.
Good lord, why didn’t he have the shingles vax? It’s probably not free once you’re over 65, like it is in Australia, but I’m sure he could afford to pay for it.
20 years ago had an elderly neighbor who had cancer and we would still see him & his wife walking their dogs throughout his treatment. Then he disappeared and we saw her one day and asked if he was ok and she said he had shingles and we should stop by to cheer him up so we did. He said the shingles were waaay worse than the chemo/cancer, he said the pain was unbearable. With him in mind I got vaccinated for shingles as soon as my doc recommended it.
My doc refused me the vaccination because I was 2 weeks shy of turning 50.
One week before turning 50 I got shingles and had a brief hospital stay because of the severity.
Now I deal with the persistent pain caused by neuropathy – gotta love health care in the old USA.
Poor dude is probably dropping out of everything that isn’t staying at home and relaxing for the next few weeks.
My dad had shingles about 17 years ago. It was awful he was in pain for months.
Probably from all that liquor he’s hawking.
My mum had shingles in her early 60s, and you’re only eligible for the vaccine in the UK over the age of 70 or if you have a weakened immune system, so she got the full force of it.
It was horrible. Luckily they’re changing it so anyone over 60 can have the vaccine (but it’s gonna take a few years to come into force)
“Presenting the Oscar’s? shingles doesn’t care! Shingrix protects!”
Get the freaking vaccine people! If you get shingles you’re going to have a bad time.
Feel better soon, Mr. Ford!
I got chicken pox as a toddler and shingles at eight. EIGHT. It was so miserable that I still remember it even when I’ve forgotten nearly everything else from that point in my childhood. I would not wish that shit on anyone.
