Leaders have begun arriving at Lancaster House in London, where today’s summit on Ukraine is being held.
Sir Keir Starmer arrived a short time ago ahead of his European counterparts, with French president Emmanuel Macron, one of the first to turn up.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Nato secretary-general Mark Rutte, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez, Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were also seen arriving at the venue near Buckingham Palace.
Rutte told the BBC today that he urged Volodymyr Zelensky to repair his relationship with the US president in a Friday-night phone call, as the alliance’s members “need to stick together” against Russia.
Zelensky, who is due to meet the King later today, was dressed in all black as he arrived at Lancaster House, warmly embracing Starmer and having a short conversation before heading into the venue.
