It would be nice for nepotism to not be the face of our foreign policy. The gravity of the position demands someone far more qualified.
Straipsnio pavadinimas nelabai sutampa ką sako ministras. Planų dėl atstovybės nekeičia, bet ieškos kažkokių kitų diplomatinių kelių. Kažka apie kitus šansus, viltį ir bla bla bla. Bet po teisybei Taivanas tikrai neužmirštas.
I am so proud of our current government
As someone living in SE Asia, what lithuania did is refreshing and encouraging.
the EU and US along with many SEA nations have been bowing down and giving in to ccp’s china economic coercion and threats.
Lithuania standing up and refusing to back down is something that is sorely needed in the international community.
Taiwan has been constantly isolated from the international community due to ccp’s china constant meddling,if nothing is done, soon this will extend to the world where ccp has the clout to determine whaterver it wants from the international community.
good job Lithuania, keep the fight going!
kinieciai yra tokie tipai, kurie sugeba padaryti neimanoma.
jie neatsitrauke pries rusus, indus, amerikiecius.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/09/07/lithuania-taiwan-china-dispute-geopolitics-europe-landsbergis/) reduced by 91%. (I’m a bot)

> China picked a fight with Lithuania over its decision to exchange diplomatic offices with Taiwan, opening a new fight between China and Europe that could be a bellwether for Beijing's ability to bend small countries to its will.
> In recent years, Beijing has ramped up pressure on the diminishing number of countries that recognize Taiwan over China to change allegiances, including Panama in 2017 and the Solomon Islands in 2019.
> Seven years of talks between the EU and China over a trade and investment agreement ground to a halt in May, after EU lawmakers delayed the approval of the deal over China's sweeping human rights violations against its minority Uyghur population in Xinjiang.

this is the essence:
> new office in Vilnius would be called the “Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania.”
> Other countries that recognize Beijing, including the United States … refer to them as Taipei offices, named after the capital of Taiwan, to avoid diplomatic spats with Beijing
jackal, trying to serve the cowardly lion, got hit 🙂
