Israel lobbies UЅ to keep Russian bases in a ‘weak’ Syria, sources say

1. What’s the angle between russia and israel? There is a lot of talk about Israel’s lobby in usa but I haven’t heard much of sth similar in russia. It was surprising that russia didnt even make a statement after israel struck one of their airbases in syria a few months back.

2. If Syria knows what’s good for it they will kick out the Russians and beg the US to come set up a few bases, preferably as close as possible to the Israeli occupation zone.

   At that point it will look very weird for Israel to be still occupying land in an American client state.

   They won’t, so it won’t, but it would be funny if it did.

   Still, I think perhaps the Israeli foreign policy establishment might have noticed how the new “west-friendly” Syria might turn out to be more inconvenient than the old one. Especially with all those juicy resources the Europeans are salivating over.

3. Reading on their past policy with Russia, they actually always were not completely against Russia even before all this, or not completely supportive of ukraine
