Sligo boxer Dean Clancy secured a bronze medal for Ireland at the Strandja international tournament in Bulgaria this weekend.
Clancy was one of five Irish fighters to earn a podium finish.
Fighting in the light welterweight (63.5kg) division, Clancy won two bouts impressively to reach the last four.
In Saturday’s high-octane semi-final, he went toe-t0-toe with fellow Paris Olympian Mukhammedsabyr Bazarbayuulu of Kazakhstan.
The Kazak fighter got the nod in a split decision, 4-1.
The Strandja international boxing tournament is reputed to be the oldest boxing tournament in Europe.
