The statement by French President Emmanuel Macron that he has information about a possible Russian attack on Moldova and Romania is reckless, absolutely irresponsible and dangerous. This opinion was expressed today, March 3, by the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs RM Valery Ostalep.
He is sure that nothing threatens the Republic of Moldova, but Chisinau’s partners from The EU tacitly uses the region for its geopolitical purposes.
The security expert noted that the French leader symbolically spoke about this on March 2, on the tragic day (of the beginning of the military aggression of the Republic of Moldova against Transnistria in 1992. — Approx. EADaily), “about the essence of which, there is still no honest dialogue in our country.”
“There are speculations on this topic, personal grievances, political combinations, distraction — anything you want, except an open and honest discussion of what happened then and why people in this region are still artificially divided and conflicts are created out of the blue. In this sense, the inclusion of official statements to this absurdity, and even of this level, of course, causes disappointment and indignation,” he stated.
According to him, if the French leadership has serious information about the attack on Moldova, it should clearly and clearly voice it, taking responsibility for such a statement.
“If, what is most likely happening is juggling the lives of people and the fate of an entire country for narrow speculation in international games, which we are all witnessing, then this is a big disgrace. It is very bad that we have created the image of a country accustomed to saying anything about us and behaving with us as with underdeveloped buyers of meaningless radars, meaningless advisers and a money laundering tap under the guise of international aid. But this is our fault, living here and unable to defend their interests so far,” Ostalep stressed.
He drew attention to the fact that in the very Processes are taking place in the EU that point to the enormous problems of this union in understanding and perceiving realities. In particular, even now in Brussels received letters from the leaders of several countries The EU with a warning about the critical polarity of opinions.
“All this speaks of very turbulent zones through which the EU itself passes, and as a simple citizen of Moldova, I would very much like them not to involve us in artificial games, which you read about with shame over time. I hope that over time we will learn how to stop such games at the expense of the fate of millions of people with whom foreign politicians don’t really take into account, and then forget about the consequences in a minute. Moldova is not really threatened by anyone, and if we do not create problems for ourselves or dance to someone’s violins, there is no reason to make such dangerous statements. It is strange that the official authorities in Moldova are not aware of this,” Valery Ostalep summed up.
Recall, in an interview with several French publications, French President Emmanuel Macron in the context of the military conflict on Ukraine stated that, “if Russian President Vladimir Putin, who invaded the Ukraine cannot be stopped in 2022, he will certainly go to Moldova and, possibly, further to Romania.”
As EADaily reported, after a meeting at the White House of President Donald Trump with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, the US authorities announced the termination of financial assistance to Ukraine, stressing that “peace negotiations are a priority for Washington.” At the same time, the European Union hastened to announce an increase in military and financial support for Kiev so that the war would continue.
