So basically the YouTuber Evildea is leading an investigation about an alleged Brazilian hyperpolyglot who claims to have mastery in more than 40 languages and basic knowledge in more than 80. Blatant fraud? Obvious, but some people are still believing him, so we gotta do it for them.
By looking at the list of languages he claims to speak, you'll notice that most of them are minor and/or endangered languages which are very difficult to find native speakers for. He clearly does that as part of his technique to fool people who have no knowledge of those languages whatsoever into thinking he is proficient in them. We've already proved with natives of major languages that he is indeed a fraud, as he doesn't seem to have mastered any foreign language other than English, Russian and possibly Ukrainian. Damn, if he isn't even able to speak Spanish which is the literal easiest language for a Brazilian to learn, what about his Lithuanian, I wonder. But only native speakers can judge his abilities.
I'm a member of Evildea's Discord and I'm on a mission to find natives for all of these languages so that we can have comments from natives of each language. So I — as well as the thousands of people who are being deceived by this guy and buying his language courses — would be immensely thankful if you guys could listen to his Lithuanian and give your own, sincere opinions on this Google doc; just write all your thoughts about his language skills, whether you think he's great, or that he sucks, or that he is reading from a script, or that he rehearsed a bunch of lines, anything you think, as long as it is sincere.
Thank you a lot for contributing and being helpful!

Yeah that dude is speaking Lithuanian, but very poorly. He’s adding pauzes where he shouldn’t whitch makes me think he just used some sort of text-to-speach to understand how to say it.
Watched a vid on his insta. He is speaking lithuanian. However, it has an insane accent on it. I could understand around 90%. Some words though were messed up so much I couldn’t make them out. I’d say you could easily “speak” that monologue if you learned the pronounciacion of letters and how the words are spoken. Even with google translate. A better test would be if he could hold a discussion with a native lithuanian.
A lot of bad pronunciation, but broken enough to not think he got a text he’s reading off the internet or memorised. From that one instagram clip my assumption is that he probably has dabbled in Lithuanian and could probably have small talk with a Lithuanian person. As a native speaker some parts of his sentences were a bit hard to understand, some words sounded straight up Russian, but overall it was ok, just the pronunciation is lacking.
EDIT: Definitely not even near fluent was my point, more like someone who learned the basics. I re-listened to the clip and agree to others that some of his pauses are awkward and feel like he is not aware of the sentence structure, meaning he may not even be aware of what is he saying in those moments.
The vocabulary he uses in the Insta Reel is advanced and way beyond basic greetings. The grammar is also correct, but his pronunciation in some cases is horrific. I refuse to believe one can become this fluent with grammar this correct and not being able to stress the correct syllable.
C1 vocab with perfect grammar, A1 pronunciation. You can connect the dots.
I don’t believe he genuinely learned the language and not just memorized the speech. I know many foreigners in Lithuania who have spent so many years living here, and they still are making mistakes when adding right endings to the words, and this guy didn’t make any grammar mistakes at all. I’m not evaluating his accent, which is rough, but still pretty understandable
Just to give you a better understanding, this is how he speaks.

hmmmmmm. i’m suspicious. his speech does not add up. his grammar is correct but pronunciation is horrible. a person with such decent grammar should have at least average pronunciation. my guess that he has memorized this text.
