Sounds like he was pissed off at not getting a promotion and then went looking to get sacked so he could bring a claim against them.
He went out in style, at least.
They probably could have made a PR thing out of it though, unless there’s some other circumstance we’re not aware of? Idk, this sounds quite endearing.
