LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Community Health Workers from the Comanche County Health Department were at Lawton Public Library on March 4, and while there they worked to help assist those in need of healthcare information and guidance.
The Health Workers stated they provide a wide variety of resources to the community.
People could sign up for Sooner-care, SNAP, and Pregnancy Resources and learn about rental and utility assistance.
“It is for pregnant women and new moms with babies up to 6 months,” Community Health Worker Sonia England said. “We have what they call concrete support which is diapers, wipes, caddies, and just hiking supplies for the baby. But we also have stuff for the mom, so we have some lotion and some other stuff that she would need after delivery.
They will be hosting this event again on the first Tuesday of next month.
