Welsh Ambulance Service deploys bicycles to deal with demand

  1. The title really should be “Welsh Ambulance Service deploys bicycles to deal with demand during high foot traffic events, like 6 Nations”.

  2. Interesting that alcohol related call outs is given as the reason for the pressure on the service. I thought it would be low staffing or covid outbreaks or something. But no, it’s the pubs opening and daytime drinkers.

I (37M) really cut down a lot on alcohol from the beginning of the pandemic, but a lot of friends really upped their intake. And they don’t seem to be slowing. I think as I enter my 40s and 50s I’ll barely bother with the stuff. Maybe just special occasions and the odd one off.

    Edit: spelling.

  3. Why are the ambulance made to look like numptys, give them a better uniform, they do a better and more respectable job than “police” or “hedlu police” in Wales.

Plus they don’t kidnap, rape, kill and dump our bodies like 👮‍♂️ or strip search little girls.

Add on: And the ambulance are actually polite unlike the police, they’ll also try incriminate you for anything they can.
