I’ve wanted to go here since I read The Whitby Witches series in the 90s.
I think the last time I visited Whitby I was pranked by some little old lady.
As I was going up the stairs there were 2 stereotypical elderly women coming down, as they approach I overheard a snippet of the conversation as one says to the other “he stretches my arsehole so wide, I quite like it”
I’m convinced there was a hidden camera for reactions but I’m really not sure since it was about 15 years ago.
I’m a bit nervous having booked a mini break to Whitby as a powerchair user, is this a valid concern would you say?
Just thinking about whether it’s worth renting a scooter rather than knackering my own chair.
Spent the weekend there. Got lucky and had amazing weather, and mace sure I did the steps every day!
Watch out for the Barguest!
Any recommendations? Heading up there in 2 weeks for the first time! Very excited!
Brilliant picture! Lovely lighting.
Gorgeous. I love Whitby, keep meaning to back. I love that dogs are in every establishment! Met so many cute pups in the bars there.
Stake and chips?
Haven’t been there but that is quite a view!
Ahh much nicer view than Covent Garden underground. Well done
Many many years ago I used to work in Woolworths in Whitby and regularly used to wind tourists up by telling them that due to maintenance works there were now in fact 200 steps. I picture in my mind people walking up and down the steps miscounting each time. A small distraction from the day to day grind of pilfering pick n mix.
