I dont like the app but i hope all the workers get taken care of properly and they arent without a job for long
Hopefully, this is not the start of another round of social media companies laying off people.
As I understand it, it’s the moderation teams and poor performers.

You need to make a plan!
At least 70% of jobs will be redundant in their current form in 10 years.
It’s hard for me to feel sorry for employees of a social media app, as I post on a social media app, although I’m sure that I’m not alone in noticing anti trump/Vance posts disappearing lately so fuck Reddit too.
Lemmy is an Europe alternative for anyone who cares
Ireland has gotten too expensive now. They’re all expanding in eastern Europe and contracting here.
Lots of opportunities in the guards nursing and construction. They shouldn’t be waiting long for new employment
There’s whispers that most of the pharmaceutical manufacturing is getting ready to leave too…
I kinda wonder where this will stop. I worked for one of their vendors and have been on gardening leave since January 17th, and we got cut without any notice. The guys left behind, both vendors and FTEs were very worried that it was just the start. Hopefully they’ll be ok, but it wouldn’t surprise me if TikTok left Ireland completely.
It’s “number go up” rot economy fake bullshit growth. Hire a load of people to make it look like you’re hyper scaling, lay a load off to cut costs and increase profit that quarter, rinse and repeat. Added bonus, the remaining workers will be too nervous to complain about poor pay and conditions lest they be next on the block.
