Arthur Edwards, a veteran Royal photographer for The Sun, has shared a touching revelation about Prince William’s childhood. At the tender age of nine, during a skiing holiday photo opportunity, the young prince made a heartfelt plea to Edwards.

The poignant moment was revealed in the Channel 5 documentary ‘Prince George: How to Make a Monarch’, with Edwards recalling: “I remember once when we were in Switzerland on a skiing trip and they would do a photocall and I remember William saying to me, ‘Please Arthur, no more pictures, no more pictures’.”

Reflecting on that incident, Edwards observed, “He was about nine or 10. He was very sad, he’s had enough of it and when I think back to that, I think ‘My God, how he suffered’, and he was determined that wasn’t going to happen to his children.”

The contemplation of Prince William’s formative years comes amid renewed attention following James Hewitt’s appearance on Good Morning Britain. Hewitt, famously known as Princess Diana‘s former lover, commented on the current estrangement between William and Prince Harry.

Hewitt posited that Diana, were she still alive, would be endeavouring to reconcile her two sons, whose relationship has been strained following Prince Harry’s move to the USA in 2020.

During his conversation with hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Hewitt shared his insights into the situation: “I think any mother would be worried and concerned about such a rift, as you put it, and she’d do her best to try and get them together.”

The discussion quickly turned to the future of the monarchy, with Prince George’s potential reign as King taking centre stage. Vanity Fair’s Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl shared her insights with the Express, suggesting that Princess Charlotte will likely be Prince George’s most ardent supporter.

Nicholl drew parallels between the sibling relationship of Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and that of King Charles and Princess Anne, saying: “Charles and Anne were incredibly close and you do see a closeness between Charlotte and George. Rather than Charlotte being a threat to George, she will be possibly his greatest asset.”

Experts predict that the different genders of the siblings will foster a strong partnership, with psychotherapist Lucy Beresford weighing in on the dynamics of sibling relationships in the context of Royal expectations. Beresford noted that same-sex siblings can often experience increased rivalry, saying: “If your eldest sibling is the same gender as you, how are you going to compete?”.

She elaborated on the potential benefits of opposite-sex siblings, suggesting that it could mitigate tension: “That sense of the firstborn is going to get all of the love and I am going to get left with nothing.”

Beresford concluded: “If you’re a different gender, somehow you haven’t got quite the same tension that you have with same-sex siblings.”
