I found this in a gift shop in Saariselkä selling Saami handicrafts but the shopkeepers couldn’t tell me what it was. They said it could possibly be decorative but that was more of a guess than anything.
I’d really appreciate your help!!
I have absolutely no idea, but here’s my wild guess: it’s a tool to help you give your pet rabbit gentle scritches.
Really rough and not that great comb? It is pretty tho

Could it be a Weaving comb for looms?
I think it is “tärppä”, which is used to poke small holes in traditional finnish rieska (flatbread) dough before baking. It is more decorative item today as so few make rieska anymore.
To comb your hair a la Little Mermaid
Pillukarvanlevitin
Its for baking
Reminds me of something that holds napkins?? Maybe it’s some fancy napkin/serviette holder or something
a trivet?
Janis! That is what some “Helsinki hunters” were after when I joined them hunting in Lapland. It was September 1983, we slogged through a lot of taiga. We weren’t allowed to talk. So I wasn’t enjoying the silence so much…. Eventually they gave up. We went back to the big cabin and had a sauna and ate what they had brought to eat.
