  1. Don’t judge a leader on what they’re saying judge them by what they do, they say. According to this rule, there is absolutely no doubt. Only a blind or republican would not agree with the facts.

  2. At this point it is not just one person that is responsible. We are not hearing anything from the intellence agencies, or the leadership from the military, or heads of government agencies about the country being compromised by Russia. I think the entire civil structure of USA is now corrupted. Let’s see if there are any mechanisms in the existing infrastructure that can fix this..

  3. Well, possibility, yeah… Is there any smoking guns? No. Would I eat my hat that he is a ‘affiliate on behalf of Russia’, yes.
I see the world through that prism that he is some kind of asset. I don’t need proof. If I look at what is happening, that is enough.
“If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck”

  4. I don’t think he is. He’s a diehard jingoistic American.

  5. It’s the only logical explanation. Even complete stupidity or dementia can’t explain all the decisions he’s made, and the only reason his ego would allow Musk to overshadow him.

  6. Possibility that he is not?

That would be much harder to prove.

  7. Assets can eventually rebel against their masters, especially when they see themselves as better than them.

  8. Very little chance. Something more substantial would have leaked by now. You think the CIA, FBI, NSA, the various other intelligence arms would say nothing if there was a truly compromised guy in charge?

Despite all the stuff being said Trumps policies on Russia are what some realist theories like John Mearsheimer have been saying from the start. Only people didn’t like what he said so preferred to call him a traitor or an asset.

Also Trump openly said before the election he would do what he’s doing and he won the popular vote. He has a mandate for better or for worse from the American people. I think it’s a tragedy but he was blocking Ukraine aid long before he came into power. He asked republicans to block a bill in 2023

  9. People only care about Russia but its obvious Trump is an Israeli asset.

He’s being nice to Putin to end the war (at least the american involvement) so the US can fully concentrate on helping Israel, and try to steer Putin away from Iran and China.

Russian asset theory is a decoy.

  10. Only other logical explanation I can think of is that Putin has a copy of trump at Epstein Island with a minor calling him daddy, so he’s extorting favors from him

  11. Political discussions became so infantile it’s insane. I don’t even like Trump but it’s getting ridiculous.

  12. No, he’s just trying to get the Russians away from China. China and Russia aren’t natural allies be better in Americas side.

Obviously this will be detramental to Europe but Trump doesn’t really care.

  13. Kind of an interesting take here. Not sure if I’m 100% convinced, but they make a few compelling points.

    > I think the distinction here is “agent” vs “asset”. An “asset” of an intelligence agency is someone who provides information or assistance to that agency, and I think there is good reason to think that Trump is either willingly an asset of Russia or at least unwittingly being easily manipulated by them. In contrast an “agent” is a person working directly for an intelligence agency and I very much doubt Trump is that.

    > If Trump was actually recruited by Russia in the early 1990s then surely in his first term as President he would have actually implemented the intended sabotage. Getting a second term surely was a fluke that no foreign intelligence agency would have counted on; who really would predict that such a ridiculous moron would get the office twice? It also doesn’t really make sense in relation to Russia’s designs on Ukraine. Why invade right after your agent was the President instead of during? You can’t say because Russia wasn’t prepared a few years earlier because frankly they weren’t prepared when they did it either.

    > Instead the most reasonable interpretation of Trump’s record as President is that he is an narcissistic moron who is easily swayed by the vague ideological leanings of whoever is currently fellating his ego. His first term was marked by his severe incompetence, where the somewhat competent team around him was hamstrung into uselessness and basically nothing was done except for Trump to get his feelings hurt by various world leaders during his blundering. In his second term he learned to replace all the competent people around him with inept sycophants and has set about with the aim of getting revenge for his slighted ego. As a result the federal leadership isn’t competent people hamstrung by a moron but genuine stupid people wrecking the place (and maybe one actual intelligence asset in Tulsi Gabbard).

    > In short, if there was a plan it would have happened first term. This second term his playing into Russia’s hands is just him being an easily manipulated fool, not some master plan 30 years in the making.

  14. It’s possible, but there’s more evidence Trump just has narcisstic personality disorder. He completely lacks morality and strongly prefers authoritarian leaders. He wants to be like them and do ‘deals’ with them.
    1. Try peeling Russia away from China, by giving away Ukraine
    2. Europe will finally rearm
    3. He’ll eventually make a deal with China, giving away Taiwan went the US no longer needs them

Needless to say an isolationist policy will end with the US being isolated
