Invaded over and over again for thousands of years.
Spends 400 years invading far away places and colonising them, creating an empire that spans the globe.
Spends 100 years seeing the empire become the commonwealth and the former colonies becoming independent countries.

Said it over and over, we can place blame on the French from Norman Conquest onwards. The French are the baddies.
Created the most powerful and richest countries on the planet.
Gave poor shitholes industry and railway and stood up to tyrants and stopped slavery.

I can’t think of a single nation that doesn’t have blood on its hands. Isn’t that how nations are formed? Through oppression and violence? Perhaps Iceland is blameless? There can’t be many.
