Doesn’t take a money saving expert to know that Rishi has essentially just said fuck off to everyone that’s actually at risk to this crisis.
I’m glad Martin Lewis is getting more media attention – he seems like a decent bloke who is genuinely trying to help people. But the fact is, his increasing presence in the media is a sign of how increasing numbers of people desperately need someone to help them and how increasingly fucked we are.
The speech was basicly repeatedly being kicked in the face by someone with steal toe caps on
Maybe I’m just cynical about the state of politics. Is the promise to do this 20p to 19p cut “by the end of parliament” a hedged bet to hobble a future non-Conservative government’s spending ability, who may then need to raise taxes, and assure subsequent victories in general elections where they can promise about how they’ll not raise taxes?
If the Conservatives wanted to cut the tax rate, and they’ve budgeted it, why not do it this year? People who are literally going hungry **now** aren’t going to be optimistic about next month let alone 2024.
I don’t know folks… I’m likely to weather any cost of living storm *okay*, but I am so jaded and I feel for anyone who’s already been having to make the real hard choices on a daily basis… Fucking sucks.
I wish one day every one just gets together vs these ass holes and stop paying for everything. Constantly getting screwed over and over and some expecting to keep going.
The richest MP ever doesn’t understand the plight of the poor what a shock
Just do what Rishi did and marry a billionaire peasants it’s easy
NI cuts are not as bad as I first feared. There is still a massive gap in reality to what the government think we can all survive on thoigh
“Stop voting tory you stupid cunts, you’re all poor, use your brains” — Martin Lewis
It was not supposed to help with the crisis, it is PR exercise that will allow the papers to talk about how Sunak has made cuts across the board. We will see that brought up constantly at the next election, even when it will be easy to prove how little it helped. This was not a budget for the people, it was a budget for the Tory PR wing.
Has Labour produced a counter budget, with a layout of what they would do?
I like Martin Lewis, I don’t like the corrupt tory bastards.

It does come to a point where the only solution is to get more £ coming in. Sadly that is extremely difficult for lots of people.
I love Martin Lewis, his site has helped me a lot over the years, but anytime I see a headline with “Martin Lewis” in it, my eyes glaze over. “Martin Lewis warns…” is the go-to headline for every clickbait site
