Sort of. The earlier policy was based not on winning a war against Russia but making the cost of attacking extremely high compared to any strategic benefit that Russia cold gain. Finnish army can do this. I disagreed with the policy before and want Finland in NATO.
In Ukraine Putin has shown he cares very little about how many young Russian men die. and how much Russians suffer because of his pet project.
The equation has changed because the opponent is not rational. Need Norwegian airports to fill our future F-35 with that sweet Norwegian oil, NATO can provide that support.

Pretty good article. The truth is that NATO is a touchy subject, and not trying to provoke that certain nation is something our nation has struggled with since the moment we got independence. The substance of finlandization and its legacy is a complex one, created from trauma and the desperate attempt to just survive.
However, we must be brave and address the real reason we’re even considering Nato right now- the reality is that Denmark could attack any moment now. Sometimes you just have to take the leap.
