These are the people preventing you from owning your own home
Pretty impossible to win this fight, developers are scumbags and the Tory housing strategy is to destroy as much of the countryside as possible.
Just look at all those old NIMBY Boomer twats in the article’s picture.
Does anyone in that photo not have high blood pressure or high cholesterol?
I do feel for those running out of green space, because it’s important to mental health. Why don’t we build upwards much? Some decently insulated, non-flammable blocks of flats, like they have in Korea, Japan etc, where they still manage to maintain huge amounts of green space.
Would help if around 18% (4.5 million) of the 24.7 million dwellings in the UK weren’t private sectors rentals, of those 48% being owned by just 17% of landlords:
* “45% of landlords have just one rental property. This represents 21% of the
private rented sector. A further 38% own between two and four properties
(representing 31% of the sector). The remaining 17% of landlords own five or
more properties, representing 48% of the private rented sector.
* Ignoring the methodological differences, since 2010, the proportion of landlords
with just one property has declined from 78% to 45% or from 40% to 21% of the
sector. Meanwhile, the proportion of landlords with five or more properties
increased from 5% to 17% or from 39% to 48% of the sector.”
