As of today, Colruyt will offer two new flavours of Cara: Cara Blond and Cara Red. This is the first time the retailer has launched a special beer under the Cara brand.
“Consumer tastes are changing: customers are increasingly opting for stronger lagers and fruit beers. We are also seeing this trend in the sales of special beers in our shops. We are convinced that we can meet this demand from our customers, so we are launching Cara Blond and Cara Red: special beers with an excellent price-quality ratio,” explains Koen Debusschere, beer buyer at Colruyt Best Prices:
Cara Blond, a strong blonde beer (8.5%), has malty notes and a fresh hop bitterness. Cara Rouge, on the other hand, is a fresh cherry-based beer and will delight fans of stronger fruity beers (7.5%). Cara Blond will be sold for €0.52 per 33 cl can, while a can of Cara Rouge will cost €0.69.
As with Cara Pils, Colruyt Group will keep the brewing location of these two new Cara variants secret.

I heard this myth that Cara is actually the rests of other pils beers, that’s why it is kept a secret (because there are multiple locations) and why it sometimes tastes different.
