“We view this visit as a milestone in our interstate relations. Today we have discussed in detail various areas of cooperation, with a focus on trade, economic and humanitarian interaction,” the head of state said. “We are ready to do everything to help Myanmar ensure its food and technological security,” the president said.
The parties have formalized their plans to build cooperation in the manufacturing industry, agriculture, pharmaceutics and science. “These are the sectors where Belarus has high competencies,” the president noted.
According to him, this year the work of the Belarus-Myanmar Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation will be resumed. A joint commission on scientific, technical and innovative cooperation will be set up in the near future.
Belarus and Myanmar also agreed to intensify humanitarian cooperation, in particular to bring more Myanmar students to Belarus. This year, the first group of children from Myanmar will arrive in Belarus for a recuperation program at the Zubrenok National Children’s Center.
