Ukrainians are rallying around their president, Volodymyr Zelensky, after President Donald Trump launched a remarkable series of verbal and written attacks on their beleaguered leader.

On Tuesday, Trump—without citing evidence—told reporters that Zelensky’s approval rating was “down at 4 percent” and suggested Ukraine should hold elections, despite martial law preventing them under the country’s constitution.

  2. An article from February the 21th? That’s like years ago in the current political climate.

  3. Old news.

Still, good thing too because right after the US has stopped intelligence sharing because of Trump’s tantrum there’s been a huge drone attack. A coincidence, I’m sure.

Thing is, sociopathic dictators (and wanabes) don’t understand how a collective country can agree with their leader if they’re not being forced or tricked.

Of all his bullshit, Trump probably does believe Zelenskyy is trying to become a dictator, he’s infuriated because he can’t work out why the country loves him, or how Zelenskyy’s doing it. Same when he makes statements like that about Trudeau, or tells everybody that the UK’s loose immigration is intended to cause a takeover by Labour and the Middle East, although if he lived where I do he’d realise he’s 20 years late ;).

(It’s actually intended to get cheap labour for British fields so that actual Brits can get on with important things like complaining about the weather, and the laws are designed so that we can attract immigrants who aren’t terrorists easily, and kick them out just as easily when the season’s over. Best of both worlds!)

Trump, who considers himself godlike in intellect, thought he could take Zelenskyy live, start insulting him, provoke him into shouting, fake some outrage and then blame everything on him. Zelenskyy did brilliantly, considering he was ambushed and using his third language. Meanwhile, Trump’s plan failing just made him look like a child, Vance looked like the bully’s bitch, and Rubio just ended up showing the world how utterly helpless he is.

  4. Of course, if Ukraine were to hold elections now, there’s zero chance Trump would be satisfied. He generally doesn’t accept election results he doesn’t like.

  5. Things are backfiring at him all the time. Now he’s delayed tariffs too. Someone put him on benzo.

  6. Funniest thing is Trump attacks Zelenskyy’s career. His TV show was popular in Ukraine and in Russia and he was one of the most well known comedians in both countries. Not only that he owns and founded Kvartal 95 which has some of the most popular shows in Ukraine and Russia like Svati (he produced and wrote as well.) Trump literally just opens his mouth and spews lies.
