    So no poland is not going back to conscription.

    Aware thats it’s just an initiative to put the infrastructure in place rather than a call up but still there.

  4. Canada should do the same. Military training is not conscription. Wouldn’t hurt to have everyone know how to use guns.

    Polish people I know do not fuck about. There are no half measures.

    Plus Poland has millions of Ukrainian men and women of fighting age too.

  10. Most European countries should introduce conscription like Finland has. In Finland most people see it as a positive and important experience.

  11. Smart. We had war in Croatia, in 90ties.

    I always thought my 1 year in then Yougoslav conscript army was a waste.

    But then all of the sudden whole hell broke lose.And boy, was I happy they trained me at least to the point where I dont die in first 3 days due to stupidity.

    Ex communist countries mostly if not all gave up on training conscripts and one year of that sht is definatelly too much.Also,one doesnt became even close to proffesional soldier.

    But SOME training when you live next to everinvading empire wannabes can save your ass in crucial first days on front, until you pick up sht from more experienced fellow soldiers.

  13. Mandatory or not? Women too or just men? What about foreign men who live in Poland? What if I refuse? It’s just a stunt to up some numbers in spreadsheets. When real shit hits the fan, knowing how disappointed people in Poland are with how their country was run for the past 20-30 years, most of these “trained” people won’t even lift a finger.

  16. Conscription is returning. Probably not in the same form as it was before, but obligatory military training will become a norm either way eventually.

  17. Every western nation needs to do this. We are heading into a new world, and our obligation to our outlook that good overcomes is being ready to demonstrate it.

  23. This is what all European Countrys should do. Even if trough stages, start convoking all adults to basic training. Starting with migrants who aquired nacionality otherwise revoke if not awsered.

  24. Smart move all of Europe should do the same. Hope for Peace, but prepare for war.
