Hey everyone,

I'm expecting an international parcel in Germany via DHL, and I just checked the tracking status. The latest update says the package is "ready for collection", but at the same time, it also mentions that it's with customs again.

I'm confused. if it's ready for pickup, where do I collect it from? I haven't received any notification, address, or instructions on where to go. Has anyone experienced this before? Does this mean I need to do something, or should I just wait?
Please note that it was ran through customs in Frankfurt First where it stayed for 8 days approximately, then was shipped to destination area where it is help by customs again.

I emailed customer service but ofc no answer.
Any insights would be appreciated!

  1. It was some time ago, but when it happened to me I got a letter where to gather my parcel from and what to pay.

  2. I think everything is correct. You can pick it up at the Zollamt and pay tax.

  3. The parcel being held at customs is normal if there is still tax thats need to be paid. You can go to your local customs office and check if they have your parcel there and get it from them. expect that you have to pay something.

    i assume that you should also get a letter, or some kind of notification as to where exactly your local customs office is, but with DHL saying that they already handed it over, i would just google it and ask them directly if they have it.
