  1. While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. I have visited Norway couple of times (and loved it). I now created this overview [ [https://www.takeyourbackpack.com/backpacking-in-norway/](https://www.takeyourbackpack.com/backpacking-in-norway/) ] for anyone who is interested in visiting Norway (with some detailed info for every highlight), hopefully you will love it as much as I did.

PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all parts of the country. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

  2. One festival? Four hiking icons? No beaches? Seems you might need some local feedback. But very nice idea!

  3. I’m from Finnmark and I agree, no reason for tourists to come here

  4. Missing out on the north! You should look into Rago National Park, the hikes around Skjomen/Narvik, and Dronningruta/Vesterålen (as well as the dining experience at Kvitnes Gård).

  5. There’s already like a billion lonely planet/travel guide things like this.

  6. Does Kristiansand and Arendal not exist?, where are some things to do in these lovely cities, and it would represent the South East as it is very nice down here.

  7. Created a Google map for a visit to Norway in 2019. Each place marker represented some place we needed to visit. 90% of the markers are places associated with my wife’s ancestry.

  8. Yes. Stay away from Sørlandet. Nothing to see or do here at all.

  9. A map like this can be a good guide for the top 1 % best experience if a single category, eg the most impressive hikes, urban areas, scenic drives etc. But one map that captures everything won’t even scratch the surface on any category

  10. Like I always suspected there is nothing going on between Trondheim and Bodø
