   I don’t want to don my tinfoil hat, but isn’t this exactly what we’d expect authoritarians who want to rip up our human rights (sorry, it was in their manifesto as “leave the ECHR”) to do ? Weaponise the police to attack political dissidents?

   Lowe certainly seems to think that’s what this is according to the article.
