Little Elon broke again one of his toys, gifted to him by the American taxpayers. Meanwhile, he is ready to wipe out the social state and buy himself more toys to play with, at the expense of the vast majority of the Americans.

2. Spacex is a private company. Not public. SpaceX has billions of dollars of government contracts. So this rocket could potentially have been paid for with taxpayer money.

8. The only possible government funding for this rocket would be not for the rocket but for achievements of milestones in the $2.6 billion HLS contract. Since this one didn’t achieve any more than the last, no milestones and no pay. The rocket is estimated cost at $100M, but the most expensive part – the Booster with 33 engines – was recovered and some or all of it can be reused. So maybe $50M really including things like manpower to launch.

   Now if you look at just the numbers of his personal wealth Elon Musk could afford to do this firework routine every month until the sun grows cold. SpaceX could keep going nearly as long. They’re not going to run out of money. It’s not taxpayer money.

   It really is neither necessary nor useful to lie about this. Go ahead and get angry about the truth. There’s plenty of that to get your motor going. Don’t subtract from the seriousness of that with made up nonsense. It erodes your credibility and the seriousness of very valid concerns.
