    On Thursday, [The Associated Press reported](https://www.huffpost.com/entry/us-pentagon-dei-purge_n_67ca5780e4b0f0ee26f56a5c) that Defense Secretary [Pete Hegseth](https://www.huffpost.com/topic/pete-hegseth) is being a good little boy by carrying out his boss’s cartoonishly evil desire to annihilate any traces of [diversity, equity and inclusion](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-illegal-discrimination-and-restoring-merit-based-opportunity/) — more commonly known as DEI — from the United States.

    The AP reports that it obtained a database that shows that the Defense Department has flagged over 26,000 photos and online posts on its website for deletion — because the administration has determined they have some kind of correlation to DEI.

    Some of the selections for deletion are concerning. The AP reports that among the images to be axed are a photo of U.S. Air Force Col. Jeannie Leavitt, the country’s first female fighter pilot, and photos of the Tuskegee Airmen, the decorated Black military pilots who served in a segregated WWII unit.

    Yet perhaps the most laughably egregious flagged image is a photograph of the Enola Gay, the World War II aircraft that dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, in August 1945.

    Donald Trump is so fundamentally dumb, he thinks you can erase gay people from the military in an afternoon.

    And since the idiot in chief can’t be wrong, someone did Control F and searched for “gay” and flagged everything in the database that showed up.

    Without realizing it, Trump and Melon Husk are demonstrating exactly why the government is normally slow and bureaucratic; it’s because they need to be accurate and transparent about everything, and that takes time.

    This is exactly why they’d be unqualified even if they really did care about government efficiency.

    Trump is reforming the government in his own image: careless, stupid, chaotic, messy, confused and of course, wildly xenophobic.
