King Charles is unlikely to remove the royal titles from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, an expert says. The couple, who married in 2018, received their titles from the late Queen Elizabeth II on their wedding day.
Currently residing in California with their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, stepped away from their positions as senior working royals in early 2020.
Commenting on Meghan’s decision to use her ‘Sussex’ title as her family name in her new Netflix series, Royal expert Phil Dampier said: “I’ve always felt he’s reluctant to start any process of stripping her and Harry of their titles.”
He further explained that the King wants to have a positive relationship with his youngest son, of whom he is very proud.
He also mentioned that Meghan’s show, With Love, Meghan, is unlikely to help heal ease reported tension between the Royal Family and the Sussexes.
Meghan told PEOPLE that she treasures her Sussex title, which she shares with Harry and their children.
“I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H, and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
