As an American, this is beautiful and also heart wrenching. I can’t properly express the comfort it gives me to know Europe remains a beacon of liberty in these dark times. Even while the light of my own Nation sputters and dies.
One day, after we have shattered the chains of tyranny, I hope we Americans will pick that torch up again, reignite the flame of freedom, and rejoin Europe as a blazing light of Liberty.
