Damn really? I thought this looked fun
There are only 2 – 3 movies a year that I am willing to see in a theatre. The last few were Mission Impossible, Maverick and The Creator. It is too expensive to go to theaters as a family.
Most stuff is just as good at home if I am willing to wait.
As someone who runs a theater some of these comments are sad, enjoying a film with an audience is special and how the film was intended to be screened, on your laptop, tv while you’re on your phone is not. The real poor choice they made was angling this as a sci-fi Robert Pattinson movie when it should have be pushed to the cinephiles and Bong Joon-ho lovers.
I will absolutely watch it when it streams. I’m not in a place to buy movie tickets right now.
So sad!!! This was one of my most anticipated movies this year! It’s a non negotiable for me to have to see it in person lol
General Audiences: *Omg, stop the superhero movie craze already!*
Also General Audiences: *Meh, I’ll wait until this non-superhero movie comes out on streaming.*
Like obviously superhero movies are the ones keeping cinemas in business year-round, so can people stop bitching about them unless they’re going to support other genres in the theaters? Put your money where your mouth is.
Man I saw it in theaters last night and it was good, Pattinson is amazing in it and there’s nothing like a good theater experience, the screen the sounds the immersive atmosphere I love it. It’s my only thing I refuse to give up from the old days, I can sit in a theater and shut myself from the world for a couple hours and enjoy art. But the movie experience has diminished because people don’t respect the idea of manners in a lot of places and that sucks, but I’m still a theater going guy
I was supposed to see it this weekend but me and 3 others I know are down with some sort of illness and would never want to infect others so we stayed home.
People say they want original, they do not.
Time and time again it’s the same drivel over and over. Don’t get me wrong I love a good trashy 10th installment of The Fast and the Furious, but I’m interested in seeing something different.
I’m checking this one and Last Breath out tomorrow.
Tonight I’m seeing Queen of the Ring.
Just because box office return is low does not indicate quality. I’m going to to it in theaters this evening and just finished reading the book in 3 days. Excited is an understatement and the source material (Mickey 7) will hook you up
I’m actually interested in the movie. Based on previews, Pattinson looks like he does an awesome job. But I don’t go to the theater anymore. Even if it’s a decent priced ticket, I’m not paying $20 for a popcorn and a coke.
The strike must have really fucked up they’re movies, there hasn’t really been anything worth spending $50-100 in a year
I thought about going to see it tonight but it would cost £23.49 at my local Cinema. I decided not to bother.
Im extremely excited for this movie, it’s just a damn shame the theater experience is almost unattainable now. I used to always go catch movies at release. It just seems these days that the excitement to do that is almost 0 now. I’ll wait until I can buy or stream it.
I said it before and i’ll say it again, there were 7-8 movies I wanted to see last year but by the time I was ready to buy tickets they were out of theaters. I love going to the movies, I don’t love movies getting a 2-week engagement period & then disappearing onto a streaming service I don’t have
That’s a shame, this looks great. Unfortunately I just can’t afford to go to movies the last few years unless it’s something I’ve been waiting for years for and plan around
That’s a shame saw it last night and really enjoyed it. That being said there were only 8 people in the theater for a 9pm Friday night showing and I came with a group of 4, so I’m not too surprised sadly.
I wanted to watch this but it isn’t in all the theatres here in India
All these replies saying they’re interested in the movie but would rather stay home and wait for streaming are BUMMING ME out
And I guess it’s not their fault. Movie tickets are expensive, and the window before streaming is so short now. I don’t know why they don’t go back to when it was more than six months between theater & home video.
I think the promos for this movie sucked and were a huge part of the problem.
Disappointed with this movie. Somehow ended up being really boring.
Sad to see, but agree that these kinds of films will suffer at the box office going forward
I don’t think all is lost and it could be salvaged on streaming but it’s really sad to see big screen cinema going out like this
I think this film’s release had to be advertised more – just now hearing it’s out after looking forward to it for months. Definitely something I want to see next weekend!
I blame the trailer music . I’m not in the business even remotely but those were poor choices.
I’m seeing it in a week or two
Can I just say, I’m a big movie guy and and a Pattinson fan. I only heard about this movie a week ago due to YouTube ads. I would’ve saw it last night but already had plans lined up. Where was the marketing for this movie?
And the ads I saw really weren’t enticing at all. I had to go seek the actual trailer out.
I saw this on Thursday night. Loved it! Some of you need to get out of the house
I love going to movies but the prices are crazy. On top of the tickets, popcorn and drinks makes it once in a while treat vs going regular esp with kids
It looks like a fun watch. At home. As part of my existing subscriptions
Ultra screen next week I’m excited
I’d rather wait and watch it at home. Less people.
I think the movie looks great. Unfortunately I just don’t care about going to the movies anymore. Too many annoying people.
Cinemas are doomed. 😔
Moving streaming to subscription model where people have multiple subscriptions really takes a bite out of the movie budget.
First movie in a long time I’ve been excited for. Already have tickets for today. Love me some Robbie P ever since his performance in The King and Batman obviously.
I legitimately didn’t know it was out. Will def see next weekend
My family can only afford to see a movie in theaters on rare occasions now. Theaters are for single people with disposable income or wealthy families. Not really a middle class family activity anymore.
Saw it last night. It’s a good move that I personally enjoyed. I would recommend it to most people.
My husband and I saw this last night. It was so great. A really fun original movie.
Halfway through the book and it’s good.
Excited to see the movie.
Wonder if it will pick up steam? It looks quite fun, my boyfriend and I are gonna see it
It’s a fun movie. Pattinson is amazing, the physicality of his performance as well as the voice are entertaining.
Solid flick. I would change some things about the ending but otherwise a good movie.
I’m so motherfucking tired of opening day/opening weekend grosses being talked about like this…give movies half a fucking chance to find an audience before writing them off as failures ffs.
I saw it. Thought it was great. Not shocked it isn’t a big draw.
It’s a Bong Joon Ho movie, it’s guaranteed to be good imo
saw it because of pattinson. expensive ticket, food, drink, sucks but whatever, i have to support good original sci fi. great acting from him btw
I thought it was an alright movie, definitely could have been done better but not bad overall.
