  1. It’s now clear that Army Corps officials knew that the sudden dam releases wouldn’t help Southern California, per the Washington Post’s Friday piece, which featured information from an internal memo. But they dumped the water anyway.

  2. Obeying the orders of a deranged lunatic; Army Corps of Engineers staff take an oath to defend the USA against domestic enemies. They had a duty to refuse.

  3. sacrificing strategic water reserves for a photo op knowing what it was for and knowing it would do nothing for the fires is pretty insane

when that water is needed I’m sure the conservatives will cite the black and white memo in their rebuke of trumps actions

  4. “A Trump publicity stunt”.

    Yeah, publicity stunt number 13,485

  5. Definitely hitting Russian levels of “and then it got worse”

  6. No biggie. Trump will just suck out all of the water from Canada’s lakes.

  7. Central valley farmers voted maga. This is on them and rest of Californians sector of the maga nazi cult.

  8. Trump no doubt was warned that this would be a consequence but making farmers lives even worse will be for his benefit, especially if Newsome decides to run in 2028. The fall out was the goal, nothing to do with the fires

  9. Maybe our natural resources can be managed better by folks who have education and experience in the field and not some geriatric boomer who is slowly becoming more demented with age

  10. California, you have my permission to join Canada.

  11. Donald Trump ordered depletion of the reservoir just to sabotage California. It was an outright act of treason.

  12. I got straight up laughed at, to my face, by a Trump supporter (the same one if you go through my comments says he doesn’t care about what happens to the people of Ukraine)…that believes there’s **ZERO** farms in California.

The sheer audacity to be that confidently stupid is just mind boggling to me. I drove truck, I picked up in Cali all the time, fruits , veggies, nuts etc etc. This dumbass called me a liar and that California is just a desert besides Los Angeles

I’m amazed, literally daily, by the dumb shit I hear these people say

  13. This is what happens when the patients take over the insane asylum.
Hopefully, someone is keeping track of all the idiocy the Magats concoct.

  14. This wasn’t entirely a bonehead move to do something idiotic. Later when the drought happens and crops get decimated trump will publicly shame California for not caring about helping their farmers. Because our Democrat officials lack the competency to pay out the dumb ass actions and expose a lie from Trump with facts.

  15. I’ve heard firsthand from USACE engineers that they are nervous for their jobs. Self-preservation is arguably as important for them right now as is making the right water management decisions. It’s a really hard place to be in, but their sticking around as long as possible means that everyone is better off in the long run. It just sucks that we have a bunch of fucking idiots telling the engineers how to do their jobs right now.

  16. It’s not just Trump, he has a whole support system at his beck and call. They are a cadre working in common cause. He is a figurehead and although he is apart of it and the most visible part at that, He is not calling the shots.

  17. Put signs about trump dumping water all over highway 5 and 99!

  18. Should have just sent the White House an AI photo of water being released

  19. Honestly I do not know what America is going to be eating in 6-8 months. Between flooding the farms in California, and dumping it’s crucial reservoir, the bird flu that is starting to rear its head, and the massive tariffs that make Potash super expensive, what is America going to eat?

EDIT: As Weedhuffer pointed out, also the loss of migrant farm labour. So what food there is, won’t have anyone to harvest it.

  20. Sounds like he was trying to engineer a Californian Great Depression

  21. They did this to bankrupt farmers and take the land. This is on purpose.

  22. I wanna know where that water actually went… because there is a [privately owned water company downstream owned by billionaires](https://youtu.be/oUKObLa5TRk?si=znB7lnmJHNVa-V1y) who probably were able to completely fill their water storage supply from that sudden rush of water into the Central Valley. Probably just more corruption at the expense of our drinking water supply.

  23. The farmers in the Central Valley voted for Trump, let them pay more for their water.

  24. This will hurt California — which is what he wants.

  25. It’s intentially trying to bleed CA of the water it desperately needs. Its the same tactic, just like how trump is killing Ukrainians so he can gain leverage to negotiate on behave of putin.

  26. Id hope the Army corp knew it wouldn’t help. Hell I even knew from the get go it wouldn’t help and I live on the other side of the country…

  27. So this summer we will hear: “food costs go up due to lack of water” I wonder who he will blame then?

  28. Given the fact it was known that this was a deliberately done despite knowing it was not effective or useful, I am curious if this has any impact of the legality of all of this, at least on a State level. I’m sure that this could be deemed ‘critical infrastructure’ on a federal level, of which tampering is a big no-no, but that certainly seems like an unlikely case the DoJ would take up.

  29. He really shouldn’t have the power to essentially erase water reserves for an entire state. What the fuck?

  30. Californian here. This was just a test run for god knows what’s to come.

Col. Chad W. Caldwell is a saboteur and a proven traitor!

    That motherfucker needs to go!

  31. Time to start learning to grow and can your own food folks. The more self sufficient you can be, the better off you will be with the coming lack of home grown food and the through the roof cost of imported food.

  32. This stuff is win-win-win for Trump, even if it hurts his direct voters. He ‘trolls the libs’. He gets his photo op. And finally he hurts his idiot voters. Creating hardship and even emergencies among people who are incapable of connecting their own actions (voting) to outcomes (trump fucking up their lives) generates the rage he can then direct at that same groups phobias… immigrants, science, empathy etc.

  33. Dust bowl 2.0 to own the libs – I’m tired of all this winning!

  34. Here’s what the Dems don’t understand…

They think it’s all about being honest and governing responsibly.

That’s naive. It’s about getting people to vote for you. That’s it. It’s only once you have the votes that you can think of installing your agenda.

It doesn’t matter one iota that the California water-releases were stupid and pointless. The Dems think the entire point of them was to put out the fires. That wasn’t their point at all. Their point was to get voters to vote Republican (not just in California, but around the entire country); their point was to make it look like Trump and Elon were doing something; their point was to make Democrats look ineffectual. It doesn’t matter if what they were doing was stupid and corrupt and pointless and dangerous. It had propaganda-value. Massive propaganda-value. Trump and Elon don’t care one iota if LA burns to the ground – they care about power. And, they obtain power by getting morons to vote for them. It’s all about obtaining power. Therefore, it’s all about the votes.

Then, once you have power, you can abuse it and do whatever you want.

The Dems think it’s about being good, honest people – constantly hamstringing themselves – and then *not* railroading their agenda through when they have power.

The GOP doesn’t give a shit about anything other than winning and getting everything they want.

Now, which group do you think constantly gets what they want – and which one constantly gets screwed?

  35. i’m tired of the measured tones coming from the opposition. They should be running ads for months reminding people of what wasn’t accomplished by this stunt and what it will cost during the dry season

  36. From Canada, it really looks like Trump is the quintessential ‘some men just want to see the world burn’.

If he was deliberating destroying the country, i couldn’t see how he would do things differently.

  37. All those almond farmers are gonna be pissed when there’s no water for them in August. You get what you vote for!

  38. and this is the kind of shit that should be published and made very national, that his publicity stunt will have real ramifications, and did nothing for the fires.
