I have moved to a new apartment, it has no dsl sockets but I think a telephone connection thing near the entrance. Could someone please tell me what that thing is in the photo and would it be possible to make a dsl connection out of it?

That’s just a landline junction box, like [this one](https://shop.mtk-crivitz.de/fernmeldetechnik/anschluss-und-verteilerdosen/536/verteilerdose-vvdi-2-ap-mini-verteiler-kieselgrau-fuer-2-da-1-401.15.1.03). It doesn’t tell you anything about the internet connection available in your apartment.
The first thing I would always do when moving in is to ask the landlord whether they can tell you what kind of connection is available in the house.
Next, you can go to any of the big providers, enter your address and check what’s available: fiber, DSL, cable…
