European eagle owl

  1. When my dad was a police officer he investigated a case in the 90s of two of these birds being stolen from our local zoo. He found them being kept in the back bedroom of a small house. They’re absolute units.

  2. Canadian here. Haven’t seen an Eagle Owl but I have seen a Great Horned Owl (very close relative of this one) and they are downright scary.

They’re huge, hyperaggressive and they basically kill anything they can. Here in North America they’ll go after raccoons and skunks and that’s not even to speak of what they do to other birds of prey. Apparently the European Eagle Owls are even more psycho

  3. A few years ago i went to the woods with some friends and we stumbled upon a weird thing. It was a circle made of candles with a cross inside it and a horse skull in the middle. The horse had a candle in each eye hole. It was very weird, but what added up to the weirdness was this massive owl, that looked just like the one in this picture, starting at us from above, somewhere up in a tree around 30m away from us. When we tried to approach it, it opened its wings (they were really big) and flew away. I’ll never forget this memory, it was such an odd thing to witness.
