March 8 (Reuters) – Syrian security forces and affiliated gunmen killed more than 340 civilians, the vast majority of them from the Alawite minority, over the last two days, Rami Abdulrahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told Reuters on Saturday.
Syrian state media on Thursday cited an interior ministry source as saying "individual violations" had occurred during a government operation to crack down on militants linked to the ousted Assad regime and said it was working to address the incidents.

r/Syria right now trying to choose between: a little bit of ethnic cleansing doesn’t make Jolani a bad guy, they are different than the rest of us so they deserved it, or the women made Assad loyalist hummus and the kids ate it
That is a very serious number. It is way beyond the number that a small group of rogue troops could massacre.
Now we see what happens to these govt forces. Will they be restrained or what.
They seem to be making the same mistake as always, making no distinction in their minds between the former regime they rightfully despise , and the civilian population that they came from.
Wasn’t r/Syria cheeeing to have Assad’s head taken off? Now when Al-jihadi and his men are killing civilians all we see is “may Allah protect the innocent!”
