You go to the bank.
Contact these banks before hand and see who will give you the best offer. Maybe you won’t have to travel anywhere.
S-Pankki is probably the easiest one. At least I could get the card and all identification codes just going online and uploading their app on my phone.
I think you need to go Finnish polis station
Dna, Elisa or Telia [mobiilivarmenne](https://mobiilivarmenne.fi/) is also an option.
If you just need a bank account, you should visit a bank in person.
The most straightforward way to open a Finnish bank account without having to visit any of the branches is as follows:
1. Get an alien ID card from the police station. Could do this either by booking an appointment or taking a place in the queue during the service hours.
2. Using your ID, get a phone subscription and Mobile Certificate. You can do it with Telia or Elisa at one of their shops.
3. Following that, go to S-Pankki website and open the account online by becoming a member of the cooperative. They accept Mobile Certificate as a valid authentication method.
Hope that helps!
It’s not like a google account. You need to be physically identified before it goes from weak ID to strong ID. So book a time slot at a bank
I am a dual citizen of Finland and Australia. I cannot even open an account in a Finnish bank because, I don’t have an address in Finland.
Even if you are a EU citizen, you need a Finnish personal code, that you can get from migri. After that any bank will open your account and you will be able to authenticate yourself through bank application.

**To apply to become a customer of OP, you will need the following information and documents:**
* Finnish personal ID code
* A permanent or temporary Finnish address registered with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency
* A residence permit or right of residence in Finland
* A valid personal ID document
**Filling in the Form**
Fill in the form on this page carefully. Prepare the required attachments before filling in the form. Reserve about 15 minutes of your time.
OP will contact you within five weekdays, by phone or email, after you have sent the form.
**Meeting at the bank branch**
Once we have the required information from you, we’ll book an appointment for you at the bank branch.
There, we’ll open a Current Account for you. Depending on your situation, we’ll also activate digital services, an online user ID for banking services and a card. In addition, we can discuss your other service needs.
**I can’t fill the form. What should i do?**
Book an appointment at an OP branch. Print and fill in the required forms (found on the linked website) and bring them to the meeting with you.
Hi
I will also be visiting Helsinki in April for the long term and planning to stay at Noli ( coz it is close to the office, furnished, amenities etc), but somebody told me the Noli address won’t be accepted by DVV and Kela? Is it true?
I tried contacting the DVV and the Kela team but haven’t got a response yet.
Thanks!
No idea. I’m confused too.
