Prevc’s victory on Saturday follows his gold medal on Thursday as part of the Slovenian Men’s Team Large Hill quartet which defended their title from the 2023 FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Planica (SLO).

“I just couldn’t sleep really well these past few days,” Prevc admitted.

“My pulse was really high (today). I think that was a sign that something great will happen, and it did. It’s really unbelievable.”

Despite his nerves, the 25-year-old topped the first round with a 138.0m jump which earned him 146.4 points and set up a second round with only nine points and five metres separating the top seven finalists in the 30-man final.

Prevc’s second round jump of 140.5m relegated Lindvik’s 139.5m to second place, but the Norwegian was disqualified after the race following an inspection of his equipment by competition officials.

“Unfortunately the suit was not according to the rules,” said race director Sandro Pertile.

Following Lindvik’s disqualification, second place went to Austria’s Jan Hoerl, who posted a combined score of 286.6 points. Japan’s Ryoyu Kobayashi rounded out the podium on 284.7 points.
