Denmark is completely reworking the staging of “Hallucination” for Eurovision 2025, bringing a brand new package to Basel.

Denmark has opted to completely rework their performance for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 following feedback received after the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix. Speaking to Eurovoix, Sissal explained that she was glad that her vocals got her victory in DMGP, stating that the staging was “underwhelming”.

The singer explains that work commenced on the new staging 12 hours after she won. Sissal explains that, for example, while wind was the main element in her DMGP performance:

that is not enough for Eurovision, if you have wind you have to be blown away.

For her performance in Basel, everything is changing: the staging, the lighting, the outfit. Sissal jokes the only thing that is staying the same is her and the song.

We also discuss with Sissal her whirlwind first week as the Danish Eurovision representative and her journey to DMGP. Watch the full interview with Sissal at Melfest WKND below:

Erik Struve Hansen, the Head of Delegation for Denmark, explained to DR that feedback from viewers and fans had not gone noticed by the broadcaster. He added in an interview with DR that:

The message to the creative people behind the show has been: “Make the coolest show possible, and don’t think about what it costs”. So the ideas have been given free rein, and then we have looked at what can be done practically with the money we have available. But it has been a high ceiling.

Sissal will compete in the second half of the second semi-final in Basel on May 15.
