  31. I can’t find the full direct quote anywhere. All of the stories I’ve found paraphrase what he said about an American playing Bond except the “a given” wording.

  34. I’m totally in agreement, but also I now wonder (and ignoring that British actors generally seem more able to portray Americans than the opposite): Is there an equivalent, quintessentially American character who *must* be played by an American?
