With Swiss ID, we are in a very good position to digitalize signatures. If we can ban commercial collections in exchange, that’s a good deal, I think.
I don’t trust electronic signature collection (let alone voting).
Anything electronic can be hacked/manipulated. There is hardware level backdoors present and plenty of foreign interests willing to exploit any weaknesses. Do you want to trust the current commander in chief to not abuse this?
While physical signature collection has its issues, we should see how the new measures perform. Having a physical paper trail is invaluable from a forensic standpoint.
Honestly I’m fine or at least very interested in having electronic initiative signatures investigated.
Unlike votes they don’t directly lead to anything and aren’t secret.
