Mythical beasts of Scandinavia

  1. It would look great as a poster!

I hadn’t heard of Selkolla, Skoffín or Kópakonan. Did you do all of the research yourself?

  2. Ok, Brunnmigi is now my favorite.

Nykur is also “known” in Iceland.

Grýla is a type of a “Tröll”, same with her husband “Leppalúði” and the 13 “Jólasveinar” (Julelads).

And there was also some kind of a cow that lives in the sea or something. Can’t remember what it’s called thought.

I love this map 🙂 Would actually love to get it framed.

  3. It looks awesome! I would change out Scandinavia though because Iceland and Finland are not Scandinavian

  4. Aweome map… a couple of questions: Why is Hiiden Hirvi in Sweden? o_O and where can I get information about Missi Massi?

I would love to see your depiction of Skuggabaldur

  5. iceland missing alot of mythical creatures one example would be Nykur is a **horse**-like being that lives underwater. Easily identified by its grey colour and **backwards hooves**, the Nykur will occasionally surface to try and lure passing humans to mount it
