Covid: Hospitals advised to cancel elective procedures as service under pressure

  1. Be careful, remember, being able to point out how things are completely inevitably going to go without mitigation is “living in fear”.

“Elective” includes stuff like joint replacements so people are mobile again and some cancer surgeries btw.

  2. As usual, the government fucked our COVID response by rushing things as soon as we had hope.

It’s not the first time they’ve made this mistake either.

Seriously, they even shutdown NPHET… Just why?

[They’re now scrambling to create a replacement for NPHET](https://redfm.ie/post/replacement-for-nphet-expected-to-be-set-up-soon/), they’re trying to decide names to go into that body now. Given that the cabinet is apparently involved in picking those names, expect this new body’s advice to match whatever it is the government want the advice to be (which is pretty much what NPHET did for the past 12 months or so, after the government added members to it)
