That’s a pisstake and that’s for what i can only assume, is meant as a one off special. Even then, it’s a fucking pisstake. I like steam trains but I wouldn’t pay 5k to go on one. That and if i had 5k to spare, it would remain in my account just to deep the reserves.

That said, some folks pay this per year just to get to work.
I know it’s a tabloid, but the headline’s a wee bit bullshitty, isn’t it? It’s not £5k for a train journey, it’s up to £5k (presumably in the same way that Dell laptops are up to £5k, if you go mental with all the side options), and the journey (which appears to last for at least a week) includes stuff like 5-star hotel stays, private concerts, and a boat cruise. It’s billed as a land cruise and isn’t a train journey, in the same way that a luxury cruiseliner isn’t the overnight ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam.
