Pros: stronger nuclear deterrence in the EU, less dependence on the US, enhanced defense.
Cons: full control in France’s hands, potential friction in the EU and NATO, weakening US influence, financial burden on partners.

French control means that Macron (or whoever will be the French president at the time) can shit his bed and simply say “No”. Poland remembers how much French soldarity is worth.
